Finding your own peace and centering yourself, recognizing when you’re overwhelmed, and putting aside some “you” time is vital to prevent burnout, even if you are passionate about something. The last thing you would want to do is be burnt out with something you love!
Most of the time, my self care is not the same, I have rituals but some days, I have different needs. It’s also important to listen to your body and notice if you need to recharge and reflect. Take some time to focus on yourself for a bit. Lately, I have been feeling a little drained and a bit off because of my knee injury and not being as physically active as I was before my injury.

Even if it’s a beautiful day out, I wanted to stay inside, with silence, and read for a bit. And I did just that! I felt recharged and pretty good afterwards, even if I did just read a few chapters.
There is no one specific way self care should look. Self care will look different for everyone. Take notice where you need a little more attention and TLC. It is important to recognize when you’re feeling overwhelmed and why.
